Intel Loses 6th Challenge against Chinese Academy of Sciences, Charged with Infringing FinFET Patent

Intel Corporation has been involved in a patent infringement lawsuit with a Chinese government-funded R&D laboratory that states that Intel has violated its FinFET patent in China. The company lost its sixth challenge with China Patent Re-examination Board while challenging the validity of the patent. The Institute of Microelectronics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (IMECAS) is seeking nearly USD 31 million in damages along with the cost of litigation from Intel at the Beijing High Court.
