ITC Institutes Investigation Based on Patent Infringement Complaint against STM and Others

The US International Trade Commission (ITC) has initiated investigation in a patent infringement complaint filed by Neodron Limited. The plaintiff asserts that the defendants STMicroelectronics, Cypress Semiconductor Corporation and Renesas Electronics Corp. infringe on at least one touch sensing technology patent and seeks a block on the import of the infringing products.
It has been announced that Dolby Laboratories Inc., Sony Group Corp. and the research institute of Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft’s US arm have started a patent pool. The pool includes over 90% patents that are used in the implementation of new MPEG-H 3D audio standard.

The Inventiv Foundation Inc. will soon be launching a free online software for helping inventors file patents. The tool will help in filing of patent applications and will also host information on the management of patent applications. Inventiv is inviting Beta testers to sign-up for early access for the platform which is set to be made available in 2021.

The company applies its cloud-based, quantitative approach to find the data previously hidden in an H&E biopsy image.
