Intel Triumphs in Second Patent Infringement Trial against VLSI

Intel Corp. has been cleared of patent infringement charges in the second of the three trials in a patent infringement lawsuit filed by VLSI Technology LLC. A jury verdict at the US District Court for the Western District of Texas issued the verdict favouring Intel, allowing it to escape damages worth $3.1 billion, which VLSI was seeking to get. VLSI had asserted that Intel infringed on their patents with their products using ‘speed shift’ technology.
