ITC Begins Investigation Based on Roku’s Patent Infringement Complaint

The US International Trade Commission (ITC) has begun an investigation based on a patent infringement complaint filed by Roku Inc. The plaintiff has alleged infringement of two of their patents with defendant Universal Electronics Inc.’s QuickSet products. Roku seeks to have an import ban ordered against the products that infringe on their patents.
Adidas Accused of Patent Infringement with Sale of Soccer Shoes

Adidas America Inc. has been accused of infringing on patents belonging to East Texas Boot Co. LLC and a lawsuit has been filed in the same regard with the US District Court for the District of Oregon. The plaintiff alleges infringement of their patents with the sale of Adidas’ soccer shoes that transfer energy to the ball with better efficiency.
CAFC Sides with L’Oreal in Patent Dispute against Olaplex

The US Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit (CAFC) has sided with L’Oreal SA by allowing a fresh trial for patent case filed by Olaplex. The new trial will be held to ascertain whether L’Oreal infringed on one of Olaplex’s patents.
Skull Shaver and Magicfly Reach Settlement Agreement, End Legal Patent Disputes

Skull Shaver, LLC and Magicfly LLC have reached a settlement agreement bringing an end to legal patent disputes between them. As part of the settlement deal, Magicfly will attain a license for the products that infringed Skull Shaver’s patent in the past and will stop the import of the infringing materials hence forth.
Sportswear Companies at Loggerheads Over Patent Infringement Allegations

Sportswear company Columbia Sportswear North America Inc. filed a patent infringement lawsuit at the US District Court for the District of Oregon accusing rival Woolly Mammoth Outerwear Inc. of infringement. It is asserted with the lawsuit that the defendant infringes on a heat retention design patent with their foil-like heat-reflective lining.
