Ohio-based firm Xennial IP LLC has sued Apple for selling a smart water bottle that allegedly infringes on two of its patents. The plaintiff alleges infringement of its patented technology “communicative sports water bottle” that enables smart water bottles to connect with smartwatches and track water intake. Apple, though not the manufacturer of the smart water bottle, sells HidrateSpark devices on its online store. The device connects with the Apple watch and monitors water intake.
