Tel Aviv University Files Lawsuit against Acacia for Patent Royalties

Tel Aviv University’s business unit, Ramot, has filed a lawsuit with the federal court in Delaware. As per the complaint, Acacia’s coherent optical transceiver modules, a central part of fiber-optical communication devices that are used in cloud data center networks, and some of their components infringe two of the plaintiff’s technology patents. The University is looking for monetary compensation of at least a fair royalty and a compulsory future royalty payable on the future sale of infringing products.
