
PTAB Rules against Nichia, Affirms Patent LED Patent Validity

The Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB) affirmed a surface mount LED patent validity by Document Security Systems Inc. Nichia Corporation’s proposed construction of a key claim regarding the patent it had challenged to be invalid could not convince PTAB with its invalidity arguments. PTAB’s decision will help Document Security in a patent infringement lawsuit against Nichia in California.

MMA Enters into Patent License Deal for Blockchain, Gaming Patents

MMA Global, Inc. has entered into a patent licensing deal consisting of a portfolio of 41 patents from Americorp Investments LLC. MMA believes that the patent portfolio will protect the major aspects of the intellectual property (IP) backbone of gaming, blockchain, and blockchain-gaming facets of its business model. The patent license contains an initial license fee worth 2,500,000 shares of LUSI common stock and warrants to buy 7,500,000 shares.

IPwe and IBM to Join Hands to Convert Patents to Digital Assets

Blockchain Firm Accuses Co-founder Over Transfer of Expired Patents

A lawsuit has been filed with the US District Court for the Central District of California by Rocketfuel Blockchain against its co-founder. The plaintiff alleges misrepresentation of patent application by the co-founder and defrauding the company. Damages of at least $5.1 million are sought by Rocketfuel from the defendant. The company states that the patents in question had been transferred to the company by the co-founder.
