District Court Judge Seeks Better Clarity Over Heart Monitor Patent Validity

The US District Court for the District of Massachusetts has told that it is too early to decide on a heart monitor patent to deem it invalid under Alice. The licensor of the patent CardioNet LLC and the patent owner Braemar Manufacturing LLC have asserted that the patent has already been upheld by the US Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. On the other hand, patent challenger InfoBionic Inc. asserts invalidity of the patent. However, the court has rejected an appeal by either parties for a decision and asked to set up a schedule where the question can be briefed for better clarity on patent validity.
