USPTO Director Iancu States AI Patent Applications Doubled Since Early 2000s

A new report by the US Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) will reveal that AI patent applications have increased rapidly. The USPTO Director Andrei Iancu during the virtual annual meeting of American Intellectual Property Law Association stated that the agency will release the report soon and also pointed out that from 2002 to 2018, the number of AI-related patent applications have more than doubled.
