District Court Unsure about Patent Validity but Allows Infringement Case to Go On

The US District Court for the Northern District of California has rejected a request for dismissal of lawsuit filed by Forescout Technologies Inc. against Fortinet Inc.’s patent infringement case. Even as the case is allowed to continue the court is sceptical about the validity of the patents in suit and stated that the patent relating to offloading IT network tasks is directed to an abstract idea.
