Edwards Lifesciences Gets Partial Victory Against Meril

The High Court of Justice in London ruled in favour of Edwards Lifesciences Corp. by ruling that defendant Meril Life Sciences Pvt. Ltd. infringed on parts of one of Edwards’ patents. However, several other patent claims of Edwards were invalidated by the court, awarding a partial victory to the plaintiff. The patent in question relates to prosthetic heart valves and the patent claims that were invalidated were done so on the basis of obviousness.
