
Federal Judge Rejects Omron’s Motion for Dismissal of Patent Infringement Lawsuit

Omron Corporation’s motion for dismissal of a patent infringement case has been rejected by a federal judge. The patent infringement lawsuit was brought against Omron by Purdue University and the patent in suit relates to a method of measuring blood pressure. Omron’s argument of patent ineligibility was rejected by the court as it did not address the defense by Purdue which stated that the patent was protected by sovereign immunity as an arm of Indiana.
