FTC Asks for Rehearing in Antitrust Case

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) has urged the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit (CAFC) to rehear a case in which the FTC attempted to block pharmaceutical companies AbbVie Inc. and Besins Healthcare Inc. from filing patent litigations. The FTC argues that patent litigations by the pharma companies against generic drug makers will lead to anti-competitive practices and will kill competition.
