London Court Rejects Oppo’s Plea to Stay Nokia Suit

Guangdong OPPO Mobile Telecommunications Corp. Ltd. had appealed to the London High Court to put a stay on the lawsuit by Nokia Corp. The high court judge declined the request of the subsidiaries of Oppo that was seeking terms for use of standard-essential patents to wait on corresponding Chinese proceedings. The court rejected Oppo’s statement stating that the on-going system is not adequate for handling multiple jurisdictions to settle the global licensing fights.
