Merck Gets Support from Profs, Drug Companies against Gilead

Merck & Co.’s Idenix Pharmaceuticals Inc. has received the backing of two major drug companies and a dozen intellectual property professors in its appeal to the Supreme Court of US (SCOTUS) to review a decision of the Circuit Court. The Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit (CAFC) had affirmed a trial court ruling that invalidated Idenix’s patent which was challenged by Gilead Sciences Inc.
