New Report Reveals Korean Companies Rapidly Filing EUV Lithography Patents

As per a Korean Intellectual Property Office (KIPO) report on patent applications in the last decade (2011-2020), the number of EUV lithography-related patent applications filed with KIPO topped at 88 in 2014, reached 55 in 2018 and 50 in 2019. Particularly, Korean companies have been quickly narrowing the gap in EUV lithography technology with foreign companies. In fact, Korean-submitted applications more than double those of foreigners in 2020.
