Crown Electrokinetics Corp. has acquired 10 patents from International Business Machines Corporation (IBM) to enhance its patent portfolio. The acquired patents are related to smart glass technology. Crown undertook the transaction through IPwe platform. This business move of acquiring highly relevant patents will benefit Crown.

Judge Puts Roofing Patent Trial on Hold, Awaits PTAB Ruling

A patent infringement suit over roofing systems against IKO Industries Limited. has been put on hold by a judge of the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Texas. Kirsch Research and Development LLC had filed a lawsuit against IKO. The case was put on hold to give the administrative tribunal time to complete its review regarding the patent at issue. The judge stated that there is a possibility that the lawsuit will be floored by the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB) before the case goes to trial.
