Court Dismisses Several Stealth Tech Patent Infringement Claims Against Federal Govt

The U.S. Court of Federal Claims has dismissed multiple claims by JG Technologies, LLC against the federal government and several of its agencies. JG Technologies accused the government agencies for infringing a patent related to detecting stealth objects, such as enemy aircraft. The Court of Federal Claims rejected various claims but did not dismiss the litigation.
DOD to Pay USD 10 Million to Thales for Patent Row Settlement

The federal government of the United States (U.S. federal government) has reached a settlement agreement to resolve a lawsuit of the U.S. Department of Defense with Thales Visionix, a unit of Thales Defense & Security Inc. The long legal battle was for a patent infringement lawsuit by a Thales unit over helmet-mounted display systems produced for the DOD’s F-35 fighter jet program. The settlement deal of USD 10 million was posted to the U.S. Court of Federal Claims.
PTAB Invalidates Several Claims in Raytheon Jet Engine Patent

The Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB) has invalidated several claims in Raytheon Technologies Corp.’s jet engine patent due to obviousness after a challenge raised by General Electric Company. The board ruled invalidation after a remand order from the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit (CAFC) after finding five claims related to patent as unpatentable.
Parcell and U.S. Air Force Enter into Patent Licensing Agreement

Parcell Company and the U.S. Air Force have entered into a patent licensing deal for the latter’s intrusion detection technology. The patent licensing agreement signed between Parcell and the air force is a partially exclusive deal.

US Army and Hanwha Enter Research and Development Agreement for Defense Systems and Technologies

Hanwha Corporation and Hanwha Defense have entered a cooperative research and development agreement with the US Army Combat Capabilities Development Command Armaments Center (DEVCOM AC). As per the terms of the agreement, both parties will jointly work on the development of defense systems and technologies by sharing resources including the intellectual property needed in the process.
