Nike Alleges Patent Infringement by Adidas in a New Lawsuit

Nike, Inc. has accused Adidas AG of infringing on its high-tech flyknit sneaker construction. In a patent lawsuit filed in United States District Court for the District of Oregon, Adidas has also been accused of appropriating the technique for dozens of other products. Adidas had denied the claim.

The Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB) has agreed to SharkNinja Operating, LLC’s plea to review a iRobot Corp.‘s patent related to robotic vacuum cleaners. PTAB initiated a review on autonomous robot auto-docking and energy management systems. PTAB sided with SharkNinja and affirmed misapplication of one of the factors in Fintiv test.
Converse and Steve Madden Tries to Resolve Patent Fight

Converse, Inc. and Steven Madden, Ltd. try to resolve patent infringement litigation for the fourth time in the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts. The patent fight is over two high-top sneaker designs. The attorneys of the plaintiff and defendant have lodged their fourth consecutive stipulation for a 30-day extension to resolve Converse’s claims of infringement of its patents.
Kitchinventions Sues Walmart over Spoon Rest Patent

Kitchinventions, LLC has filed patent infringement lawsuit against Walmart, Inc. in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida. Kitchinventions alleged that Walmart’s Cuisinart spoon rest infringe its patent related to the suction cup spoon rest. Kitchinventions accused Walmart for the unauthorized sale of infringing product.
CAFC Denies Appeal to Review Victoria’s Secret Victory

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit (CAFC) has denied reassessing a panel decision over the dismissal of its lawsuit against L Brands Inc., the parent company of Victoria’s Secret. Andra Group LP had appealed to CAFC to review the patent lawsuit filed against the parent company and 2 subsidiaries that was dismissed for improper venue. CAFC denied Andra Group’s combined petition for panel rehearing or en banc review in a per curiam order.

Yashram Lifestyle Brands Pvt. Ltd. has lodged a contempt plea against Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail Limited (ABFRL) in the Karnataka High Court. Yashram has accused ABFRL for wilful disobedience of High Court’s order of absolute injunction that restrains ABFRL from manufacturing or selling sanitary undergarments whose patents are owned by Yashram. Plaintiff has alleged ABFRL for the sale of infringing products on the e-commerce website and other channels.
