King River Resources Limited has joined hands and signed a Participant Agreement with the Future Battery Industries Cooperative Research Centre (FBICRC). King River will preserve all the intellectual property from its own operations to date. It will also be gaining a share of IP from the FBICRC projects it participates in. The company will assist the research center on two important undertakings – a Cathode Precursor and Active Materials Production Pilot Plant project and a Development and Application of Vanadium Redox Flow Batteries project.
Rogers and KCC End Patent Dispute Over DBC Substrate Materials

Rogers Corporation and KCC Corporation have settled a patent infringement dispute between them brought by the former. The companies that were at loggerheads over patents relating to direct bonded copper (DBC) substrate materials in Germany and have resolved all litigations with regard to the patents. No settlement details have been disclosed by either parties.
American Resources Enters into Non-exclusive Sub-Licensing Agreement with Novusterra

American Resources Corporation and Novusterra Inc. have entered an agreement for the former to non-exclusively sub-license two of its exclusive graphene-related patents. The licensing agreement is finalized with the aim of further development of the patents. As part of the agreement, American Resources will receive an equity stake in Novusterra.
US Steel Acquires NanoSteel IP for Flat Rolled Sheets

United States Steel Corporation has entered into an acquisition deal to acquire the patents belonging to NanoSteel Company, Inc. The acquisition will add to US Steel’s flat rolled sheet capabilities with the help of NanoSteel’s patents and other IPs. Further details of the deal remain undisclosed.

The People’s Court of Zhengzhou, China has awarded a win to 3M Company in a patent infringement case that it brought against Qingdao Sisa Abrasives Co., Ltd. The court found the defendant infringing on two of 3M’s patents relating to precision-shaped abrasive grain technology. An injunction on the manufacture, sale and offer of sale of the infringing products was ordered by the court along with an award of damages for the plaintiff.
Hasler Licenses Purdue University’s REE Separation and Purification Tech to Medallion

Medallion Resources Limited has entered into a licensing agreement for exclusive rights to the rare earth element separation and purification technology from Hasler Ventures LLC. The license for this technology developed by Purdue University provides Medallion with complete rights to its patents and know-how.
