Warner-Lambert Faces Lawsuit Over Invalidated Patent

Pfizer-owned Warner-Lambert has been sued by Ranbaxy for lost profits. The plaintiff is the latest generic-drug manufacturer to seek damages for the years it could not introduce a version of Lyrica due to a patent that was later invalidated by the UK Supreme Court. Ranbaxy (UK) Ltd., which is a subsidiary of Sun Pharma, in its latest High Court claim stated that it had obtained marketing authority for the sale of generic pregabalin and was due to launch in the UK in January 2016.
