Magistrate Judge Recommends Dropping Several Defendants from MEEC Patent Infringement Lawsuit

The magistrate judge at the US Court for the District of Delaware has recommended that 12 defendants fighting patent infringement charges brought by Midwest Energy Emissions Corp. (MEEC) be dropped from the litigation. The reason provided by the magistrate judge to drop these defendants including Arthur J. Gallaher & Co., DTE REF Holdings LLC and others is that they have not been given clarity on how they infringe on the asserted patents. Notably, requests from 16 other defendants for being cleared of charges has been declined by the judge.
