
WTO Urged to Waive IP Rights for COVID-19 Vaccines and Drugs by Advocacy Groups

The World Trade Organisation (WTO) has received hundreds of petitions from advocacy groups that urge the organisation to waive provisions in trade deals governing the intellectual property rights associated with drugs and vaccines relating to the COVID-19 disease. This petition follows a similar petition that India and South Africa had made earlier in the month.
