ITC Institutes Investigation Based on Patent Infringement Complaint against STM and Others

The US International Trade Commission (ITC) has initiated investigation in a patent infringement complaint filed by Neodron Limited. The plaintiff asserts that the defendants STMicroelectronics, Cypress Semiconductor Corporation and Renesas Electronics Corp. infringe on at least one touch sensing technology patent and seeks a block on the import of the infringing products.
It has been announced that Dolby Laboratories Inc., Sony Group Corp. and the research institute of Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft’s US arm have started a patent pool. The pool includes over 90% patents that are used in the implementation of new MPEG-H 3D audio standard.

4D Path, a company conceived by experts from Harvard Medical School, MIT and University of Cambridge, has revealed a more efficient and faster approach for cancer diagnosis and biomarker profiling that speeds up and democratizes precision medicine for both clinical trials and optimized patient care. The company applies its cloud-based, quantitative approach to find the data previously hidden in an H&E biopsy image.

BrightChats, Inc. has announced that it plans to release its ‘SOLO 20’ virtual platform soon. Notably, SOLO 20 will enable users to conduct virtual meetings in large groups of over 20 audio/video participants. BrightChats’ SOLO 6, which is another version enables one-on-one or groups of six participants to connect quickly.
Lab2Market Program Launched for Support of Deep Tech Researchers

Three Canadian Universities Dalhousie University, Memorial University and Ryerson University have launched the Lab2Market Program which is aimed at helping deep tech researchers. The program has a funding of $2.6 million from the Federal Government and will also receive support from Mitacs.
